Self Worth!
OK so today I want to talk about self worth. I have been noticing lately that a lot of people are single and don't know why or are in a relationship that they do not want to be in but feel that they have no other choice. This bothers me!
So after my first marriage didn't work out I was once again a single man but this time with three kids. My grand mom would tell me that it would be hard to find a good woman because I have extra baggage. So I told myself that I would increase my self worth therefore even know I was married and have three kids but a woman would be able to look at me and want to be with me because my self worth is high!
So I don't drive the best car in the world and I'm not the hottest looking guy around and I don't make more money then Bill Gates BUT I have a good job that I have been at for eleven years, My car is pretty nice and stylish and I damn sure know I am sexy!
So after I got a divorce I had conditioned my self to where every girl that I dated I break up with them because their self worth wasn't good enough for me. Only one girl in my life ever broke up with me. Damn! But anyway I feel that we can make our selves a lot better than we are and would no longer have excuses of how we can't find a good man or a good woman. If you want a good man or a good woman then maybe you need your self to be a good man or a good woman.
That is so true Koota. But a lot of people can higher their self worth too. You ever see a guy walk down the street and your like dame he is fine and all of a sudden you want to get to know him right? Well he increased his self worth by his appearance. Now whether everything else is his life is on point that you won't know till you meet him but my point is look at all the girls or guys that are out of shape but and they complain how their are no good guys out there and none to fine. But I bet if they walked past that fine person they wouldn't even dare to try to speak to them and why because they don't feel that they are on their level. People need to start bringing their self worth up so they can have the courage to talk to anyone. Have your self on the level where you feel you can pick and choose. Have your self where you know you are worth more and it's not just because you have a good attitude.
Meh...and then you have some whose self worth is so high that they are incredibly self-focused and kind of a lone wolf *looks in mirror* Possibly self-centered is a better word choice LOL.
In regards to Sio. I would rather a person to be the one who could call the shots and look in the mirror and feel that their self worth is high rather than think that they are not work much and have very little options.
What I am simply saying is to those people who think they can not have things that other people have like cars, money, looks or even a good mate, you have to make your self worth more to yourself and others! And then you will start seeing things become better for you in your current situation.
My self worth was shot 10 years ago. It took a few good friends to remind me that I was better than that. And stuck by my side to ensure it. I'll have to admit like Toni said. I'm not the best looking guy around. I been told a lot. (Why they wanna kill my spirit) my car is far from new. And I'm not working atm due to some BS. I am made of flesh and built on emotion. And the things ppl say may shy my head from side to side. But my self worth sit high. I like to keep it on top of the fridge when Toni around so he can't reach it. Lol.
When I look around at status on face book the most things I see is how heart broken I am and how it's coming up to Valentines Day and I have no body or my boyfriend/girlfriend makes me mad what should I do? It's just filled with negative status that I believe could be turned around if people believed that they had other options for their self.
OK so here is some personal insight for myself, if my marriage did not work out I would not think it was the end of the world or oh no I will never be able to find someone. I have NO DOUBTS that my options are Very Wide and High! I wouldn't beat myself up saying, wow another marriage gone down the drain who will want me! Life is life and life is what you make of it! Hold life in your hands and create it to what you want!
OK so here is some more personal insight for myself, so of course now you all know this is my second marriage so let me tell you a little bit about my wife which makes me keep her around by my side ;} When I met her she actually noticed me She was talking to a guy that I know. So I went over there and started talking to him and she rubbed on my arm and my chest. It was at Katmandu Halloween party in 2006! I was dressed up as Vin Diesel from The Chronicles of Riddick. Of course I looked at her and thought she was crazy! So I walked off. Later on that night I seen her dancing (she is a great dancer) and I LOVE to dance so I wanted to dance with her so I did. Anyway long story short I gave her my myspace page info and she didn't want to talk to me because she thought I was a player since I had nothing but pictures of my self. A few weeks went by and she wrote to me on myspace and said that she would be at the club if I wanted to see her again. So I went and we exchanged numbers and I invited her to my Christmas party and we hit it off from there. She is beautiful as everyone can see from my album with the sexy pic's of her. She has a very nice body= big booty, size D's and a pretty face slim waste but besides that she has a good job and she makes a lot of money (please don't rob her) and she has a car and she has a really nice family that raised her well. All of these things came together which made me decide that I would love to marry her.
Now it is a year and a half later after our marriage and some times I want to kill her lol! Our first year was very hard and many times I did want it to end. She has a lot more faith than I do and helped me clear my head a lot. So now things are better and we are looking good so far. But nothing is going to be great in this life. We have to take things that are good and take the great things out of them so that it can shine! So together my wife and I are very good power couple. I say that because we have everything that we need to consider our self successful as far as being married at least to people looking from the outside in. We have a nice house in a good area with three cars and a lot of materiel things but what it all comes down to is we both had a lot of self worth when we met and even more together now as a couple. If we were to split we both should be fine on our own and would have plenty of options
I think whenever you are in a relationship if it was to end that relationship should never break you! If you come in to it with all the right things on your own Or you helped to create those things as a couple then when it is over if that is the direction that life takes you, you should not be a broken person but only be able to say "well we gave it our all and in the end it just didn't work. Take your self worth and move on. Life has more in store for you but it is up to you to be in control so you can take it.
I agree. Ppl put more in there companion then thereselve. Alot of ppl strongly that they will fall and wither if it wasnt for the person they got. Honestly, I dont want nobody feeling that way towards me and its a turn off and pushes me away ...when I hear it. Cause you have no hope or faith in yourself. GRANTED I WANT A MAN IN MY LIFE BUT IT'S A TIME FOR EVERYTHING AND RIGHT NOW IM FOCUSED ON GETTING ...MY DEGREE AND TAKING CARE OF MY CHILDREN BY BEING THE BEST MOTHER I KNOW HOW MY RELATIONSHIPS BROKE ME DOWN BUT I NEVER STAYED THERE I GOT BACK UP AND TOLD MY SELF THAT I AM BEAUTIFUL AND THAT THERE IS SUM1 OUT THERE FOR ME JUST NOT RIGHT NOW... SELF WORTH IS VERY IMPORTANT AND IT CAN MAKE U AND BREAK U BE POSITIVE AND KNOW THAT U ARE SOMEBODY SPECIAL....... AND NOW UR MOMMA KNOWS :)
Ant I know my self worth and I have yet to find someone equal or higher, what do you think I should do with out lowering my standards or settling? @steph if he wrote a book he would need one mean spell check.

Well Karyn from what I know of you since we have become friends you are a pretty woman with a good head on your shoulders, you say you have a good job and make decent money and you keep me entertained with your words and your thoughts regarding our conversations. If I were single I would want to check you out if you sent me a plain ticket.
Shakeem you should know that spell check corrects misspelled words not words that sound the same but is the incorrect choice of word. That has to do with checking grammar. I use Fire Fox because it has spell check. But this is facebook, who really proof reads their stuff? And Now Your Momma Knows ;}
hahhah....that is sweet in a cheap kind of way!!!!....thank you for achknowledging and appreciating my values, because they are really what make me tick and shape my thoughts, beliefs etc.... I do have a good job- and that is measured by the... level of satisfaction i feel at the end of each day and my belief that what i do may made a difference ... i agree that we do have good conversations and we have challenged each other on numerous topics which has been fun...but get this straight my brotha.......i dont pay for men to fly across the world to allow them to 'check me out'...i'd have to be pretty low in self esteem to do that!!!! lol....nah .....but thank you...now take your energy and direct it towards your wife!!
Anthony, Your posts are so interesting. I tend to Wonder why I am still single an why passed Relationships haven't worked. I have certain Qualities that I am looking for in a guy so That may play a role in why some people Wonder why they are still single. I feel Like people can't understand why they are In unwanted relationships because they are Afraid of being alone an settle for the second Best option! I think self worth is very Important. Until your 100 percent happy And content with yourself you won't be able To fully commit in a self fulling relationship.
